I couldn't get past the initial load, verified to errors, uninstalled and reinstalled to find that the save file was wiped, even had a copy of it in another folder and it won't recognise it That issue was solved more than half a year ago. In that case, I'd recommend loading that file and immediately saving it to another slot so you don't accidentally update the only existing file that works to a corrupted version.ĭon't excuse poor programming by blaming users for using the save function of the gameĪlso 100% uninstalling the game does affect and delete the save files If you use the "load" option and can see the preview image on at least one of the save slots, that particular file might still be working. Those informations are the ones they most often need when hunting bugs. If nothing helps, make a copy of your save file directory on google drive or dropbox - remember to set permissions so people with a link to it can access the files - and then send a bug report to with a link to that directory and a description of your problem, information about what operating system you use, what language version of the game is running and what graphics card you're using and what screen size resolution you use. Verifying game files on steam should do the same thing but is often less effective. Uninstalling the game and reinstalling it doesn't affect the save files. But it'd be very weird if that problem had returned. Back then it was possible that the same data got saved multiple times till eventually the file got too large. It happened if you reloaded very frequently - in other words, trying to outsmart the RNG when crafting something by repeatedly reloading. If the save files are extremely large that was the issue that existed months ago. I had that issue on a previous version but that was more than half a year ago. There's really only two possible explanations:ġ) The save files are actually missing = they weren't savedĢ) The save files exist but are corrupted. Use this link to find your save file directory and check how many files exist there and how recently they were saved. I think I am going to have to find a way to save game outside of Steam. Should I uninstall it? With files missing? I think I am just out of luck. It just was a lot because I had all of the new machines and my house was four agony! I just never have had this happen before.
